Strengthening the Logistics Management Information System in Haiti

In 2020 Ministry of Public Health and Population Haiti (MSPP), Shifo Foundation (Shifo), Medical Access Uganda Limited (MAUL) and VillageReach started a collaboration to modernise Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) in Haiti. The project is funded by The Global Fund.

The goal of the project is to implement Smart Paper Technology in the health facilities to bring more accurate and timely data visibility on availability, consumption and other supply chain indicators for all medicines and supplies. Supply-chain data generated through SPT will be integrated into the DHIS2 System for data visibility at the district and national levels.

MSPP selected Smart Paper Technology

the solution can work in all health facilities across the country
the solution can bring systems change
the solution can be adopted at scale and
the solution can be sustained by the Government of Haiti

The following data use interventions will be integrated across the health care chain:

Health facilities receive their key performance indicators to help them know their performance and improve on stock management.
Decision-makers and planners at district and national levels review the performance of each health facility/area using the integrated dashboard and reports. The insights help decision-makers identify and close the gaps in strengthening supply-chain, to ensure better availability of medicines and supplies.
